Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada), has launched the Soughat initiative, aimed at empowering Omani artisans and integrating their handcrafted products into the tourism experience across a number of hotel destinations, enhancing local content and strengthening the presence of authentic Omani crafts among visitors. The initiative was announced alongside OMRAN Group’s participation in the First International Forum for Creative Handicrafts, organised by Riyada. The forum serves as an international platform dedicated to empowering handicrafts enterprises and startups, fostering innovation through modern technologies, building local and global partnerships, and highlighting Omani handicrafts as a key pillar of the creative economy. Soughat focuses on establishing interactive retail touchpoints for handicraft products within hotel properties, enabling artisans to directly reach tourists while introducing visitors to locally made products and the stories behind their creators. The first phase of the initiative will be rolled out across several properties within OMRAN Group’s hotel portfolio, including W Muscat, InterContinental Muscat, Barceló Mussanah Resort, and Jumeirah Muscat Bay. In line with its mandate as the executive arm of the Sultanate of Oman for tourism development OMRAN Group participated in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning’s Urban October event from 6–9 October 2025. During the event, the Group presented a portfolio of current and future projects that aim to support efforts in advancing Oman’s tourism and urban development landscape. Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront, a landmark redevelopment project that will transform Muscat’s historic port into an integrated, mixed-use tourism destination. The project seeks to preserve the site’s cultural and architectural heritage, while opening new horizons for tourism and modern lifestyles, and strengthening investment opportunities within a framework of balanced and sustainable development. Four Seasons Resort and Private Residences, Muscat a luxury beachfront resort on the Al Bustan coast featuring 200 hotel rooms, 100 hotel apartments, five restaurants, and premium leisure and sports facilities. This project marks the first entry of the Four Seasons brand into Oman, reflecting a promising, attractive, and distinctive investment environment. Club Med Musandam Resort, a 215,000 sqm beachfront development in Khasab with 300 rooms and extensive leisure amenities, blending authentic Arabian hospitality with world-class family and leisure tourism experiences , while representing the first Club Med resort in the Middle East. TUI Group and Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) announced a landmark partnership to position Oman as a leading sun-and-beach destination for European travellers. The alliance aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to diversify the economy and strengthen the tourism sector as a key pillar of growth. Under the agreement, the first cluster of five new hotels will be developed in the Dhofar Governorate. Operated under renowned TUI brands including ROBINSON, TUI Blue, RIU, Jaz, and The Mora, the properties are expected to welcome international guests starting from the winter of 2028. As part of the collaboration, OMRAN Group will acquire a 1.4% strategic shareholding in TUI Group, reinforcing a shared commitment to long-term, sustainable tourism development.
