Air Canada announced that it will once again resume its non-stop operations from Dubai to Toronto starting 1st June 2021. There will be three flights weekly connecting the two destinations on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Speaking to TTME, Deepu Cyriac – Country Manager for Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman stated that they will be operating Dreamliner 787-900 to Canadian cities and US cities. “At present Canada has restrictions, therefore Canadian citizens, PR holders, students and immigrants from Dubai and a small category of visit visa holders will be allowed to enter, also if there are any visit visa holders with an immediate relative who is a citizen or PR holder is also able to visit. There is a mandatory three day hotel stay to be complied where the traveller needs to stay in a government approved hotel for three days and 11 days in home quarantine for everyone entering Canada. Students were the most affected during the pandemic and Canada has taken the initiative to open it to them, hence we expect a huge student movement to Canada.” Sharing about the necessity of PCR test to board the aircraft Cyriac reiterated, “it is mandatory to carry a negative PCR taken 72 hours prior to departure and upon arrival in Toronto there will be another PCR test conducted. Over 150 industry experts, trade partners, and delegates from leading travel agencies, from across the UAE joined Air Canada in celebrating the airline’s 80th anniversary at Palace Downtown Dubai. While the airline’s Country Manager for UAE /GCC Deepu Cyriac welcomed all the invitees at the event, Air Canada’s Director Sales EMEAI Margret Skinner thanked the attendees for their support and also revealed some new products available on board. Air Canada is expanding its reach within the Middle East and aims to tap new markets such as Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman. The only four star international network carrier in North America, Air Canada celebrated one year of their operations in Dubai recently in the presence of Margaret Skinner, Director Sales EMEAI, Air Canada. Skinner says that the Dreamliner is a game changer for them, but now they have upgraded it to a Boeing 777 for the convenience of the passengers travelling from Dubai – Toronto route and vice versa. Deepu Cyriac, Country Manager for UAE/GCC, Air Canada, stated that they recently opened BSP in Kuwait. They are further expanding their services to have SPA partnerships with Qatar Airways, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air and Saudi Arabian Airline to travel via Dubai and London to more destinations in Canada.
